Deep clean or regular clean? How to tell which one you need
5 September 2026 · 4 min read
People often book a weekly clean when what they actually need is one deep clean first. Getting this right saves money, because a regular clean on top of built-up grime never quite looks finished.
What a regular clean covers
Surfaces, bathrooms, kitchen worktops and hob, floors vacuumed and mopped, bins, mirrors and touchpoints. It maintains a home that is already clean. Typically 2 to 3 hours for a 2 or 3 bed house at £20 per hour.
What a deep clean adds
A deep clean gets into everything a weekly visit skips:
- Inside the oven, fridge, freezer and microwave
- Limescale removed from taps, shower screens and tiles
- Skirtings, door frames, radiators and light switches
- Inside kitchen cupboards and wardrobes
- Extractor fans, window sills and interior glass
Which one you need
If you have never had a professional clean, are moving in, have just had builders in, or have not cleaned behind the appliances in over a year, start with a deep clean. After that a fortnightly or weekly regular clean keeps it there for far less.
The usual pattern
Most of our Birmingham clients book one deep clean from £180, then move onto a regular plan. New clients get 20 percent off the first clean, and we price match any written local quote.
